Sandro Azzopardi through time

Past pieces by Sandro Azzopardi

Sandro Azzopardi is the fourth generation descendant of a family of Jewellers with over 28 years experience in the industry. His early years were spent in training on all aspects of the business: sales, product selection and, most significantly, workshop apprenticeship. This has given him an extensive understanding in the development and manufacturing of fine jewellery, from an initial creative concept to the artistic execution of the final product. This knowledge and experience was refined through a study of jewellery through a historial perspective at Sotheby’s, in London. Applied practice in Rome further sharpened his skills in jewellery design and diamond setting. As a watch collector and aficionado, Sandro closely follows innovations in the watch market, both in the area of design and precision development.

In 1996 Sandro went into business independently when he opened the main boutique, located in the heart of Sliema: a boutique with a vision, to be the first jewellery designer boutique in Malta.

Having successfully launched and popularised some of the major luxury jewellery brands on the island, Sandro is now introducing a new dimension to the market: his own range of jewellery which are all unique and signed pieces.

To realise this new design concept Sandro Azzopardi Gioielleria has recruited as part of their team the highly talented local Artist Yasmin Modi. Her role as Art Director and Designer places her in charge of transferring design concepts on paper. Together, Sandro and Yasmin are creating designs fuelled by the theme of “Jewellery as Art” bringing into play bold intense colours to bring alive vivid unforgettable pieces.

Gemstones available include a rare 1.99 carat Alexandrite, an intense blue 5.38 carat Ceylon Sapphire and an extensive range of Diamonds from 0.1 carat to over 4 carats. Stunning Aquamarines, Amethysts, Citrines, Fluorites, Peridots, Quartz, Tanzanites, Topaz, and sophisticated Pearls including Natural South Sea Pearls of up to 15 mm are all available too.

Much of the design of a particular piece is based on the colour selection and inspiration of the stone itself giving the individual pieces inimitable style and value. This artistic design approach will also enable clients to have jewellery specifically designed for different occasions with importance given to their personal tastes and requirements. New concepts of settings are being introduced and limited edition and “one-time” pieces will be made available. Each piece will be signed by a unique logo which is trademarked by Sandro Azzopardi.

An extensive range of Antique Silverware, including rare Maltese collectable silver items, and a variety of vintage pocket watches and collectable wristwatches are also on display and are now available for purchase from the boutique. Sandro Azzopardi Gioielleria also represent Bvlgari Jewellery, Watches and Accessories.
